From residentials and camps to outdoor activities such as kayaking, climbing and bush-craft to international opportunities ranging from visits, holidays, community projects and exchanges to the chance to chill out with friends, make things, visit new places and most importantly have fun.
2010 saw us celebrating our 100th birthday and that certainly proved that Guiding is alive and kicking in Girlguiding North Yorkshire West, with over 200 Rainbows visiting a farm, almost 800 Brownies taking over the Alhambra theatre for a special showing of the panto, over 150 Guides getting away to York for an action packed day of challenges, Senior Section also visiting York and meeting new friends, over 2000 people gathering at Newby Hall, near Ripon for a special evening celebration and 200 Leaders at a thank you event in January.
Throughout the year, events and activities are made available to our members, and will be published on the website. If you are already a member of Girlguiding North Yorkshire West, keep checking back here to find out what’s happening and what you can get involved in or if you would like to join us, either as a girl member (aged 4-26) or as a volunteer adult (either a unit Leader or helper) please do get in touch, either by phoning, joining us, or emailing us.
