NYW County Camp 2025

The Outdoor team would like to invite leaders to bring their unit to North Yorkshire West County Camp.

18^th-22^nd Aug 2025

Ripon Racecourse, HG4 1UG

There are 9 different types of places to book - please check the details of each in the shop, and choose the correct type:

• Camping Participant Guide/Ranger/YL - Mon-Fri - £115 plus food
• Camping Helper Adult/YL (not including It's a knockout) - Mon-Fri - £28
• Camping Helper Adult/YL (not including It's a knockout) - Tues-Fri - £25
• Camping Brownie - Tues-Fri - £100 plus food
• Indoor Adult (not including It's a knockout) - Tues-Wed - £20
• Indoor Adult (not including It's a knockout)   -  Wed-Thurs - £20
• Day Visit Rainbow/Brownie Wednesday (bring own lunch) - £30
• Day Visit Adult/YL (not including It's a knockout) Wednesday - £5
• Day Visit Adult/YL (INCLUDING It's a knockout) Wednesday - £25

For Day Visitors (Wednesday 20^th Aug):

Brownies and Rainbows are also invited for the day on Wednesday 20^th August 10am -5pm. Bringing their own lunch. There will be a chance to look around camp and participate in crafts activities, camp badge and It’s A knockout.

About:

• – Camp runs from Monday 18th to evening of Friday 22^nd August 2025, with a day visit and camping options (and indoor options for adults).
• – The theme of the camp is based on the TV program “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” and will include Bush Tucker trials and treasure chest challenge. Plus, climbing wall, dragon boat racing, crafts, archery and much more plus usual camp activities of crafts, silly sports, It’s a Knockout, water activity and many more.
• – You do not need a camp licence to attend the camp as there will be enough leaders with licences at camp to cover all the participants.
• – At present we do not have capacity for lone guides but if you have a girl who wishes to attend and you or your leaders cannot please let the outdoor team know via outdoors@girlguidingnyw.org.uk

Please note:

• The ratio of 1 adult: 6 Brownies must be adhered to.
• You do not have to wait for every girl to book before you book places as you will be able to add girls later.
• We do try and included all sections including camping accommodation for Brownies, as well as day visits for those not able to stay over. Please look at all options.
• We appreciate Ripon is at the edge of our County so for some, especially Rainbows, you may feel it is too far to travel but do hope you can join us.

Forms:

• All consent and health forms will be handled by the unit leaders.
• All the consent and health forms will need to be returned to the unit leader, the organising team will need emergency contact list prior to the event, a form will be sent to you and a copy of the health form to be given to the camp first aider.
