We welcomed 192 people along to the open day at Birk Crag, they came to see the amazing progress being made thanks to the fabulous support from the National Lottery Community Fund.

We were proud to show off our new doors and ceilings, and of course there was lots behind the scenes which isn’t as easy to see, with pipes and wires almost everywhere that we need them!

The day wasn’t just about sharing our progress, we also raised some much needed extra funds, bringing in almost £600 on the day in donations for refreshments.

A huge thank you to Caroline for the cake stall, Margaret for teas & coffees and Faye for the Easter Egg hunt, as well as Sue, Debs & Judi for their work preparing for the day.

We have a fantastic team on site, many of whom are volunteers, led by the fantastic Richard Hall, who is our Project Manager and all round hero!  He has encouraged many of his fellow Knaresborough Lions to give their time and energy to this huge project.  It really is amazing what they have achieved.

While the National Lottery Community Fund is getting our ground floor & basement open this summer, we still need to keep fundraising towards finishing upstairs, as that will be a vital part of our income going forwards.
